The Quality Analysis Service in plants carries out the qualitative and quantitative analysis of secondary metabolites in plants (glucosinolates and phenolic compounds in crucifers and hydroxycinnamic acids (soluble fraction, ester-conjugated, glicosilated and cell-wall bounded (p-coumarate, ferulate and diferulates)) in maize) by high efficiency chromatographic techniques (HPLC and UPLC). Extraction and partial purification of the metabolites prior to the chromatographic determination can also be provided.

Quantification of pigments (chlorophyll, carotenoids and anthocyanins) and the antioxidant capacity of plant extracts can be estimated using spectrophotometric techniques.
